His name is turtle and he is a 2 month old Flemishh giant. (I will talk more about them in a breeds post) He is a growing boy! Flemish giants have gotten up to 55 pounds! But I am pretty sure this little/big guy will get to be maybe 15 pounds at the most, just based on his growth rate right now. Throughout this blog you will see more pictures of him in various posts that will remind you that when it comes to litter training I am speaking from experience. He is a super sweet and curious boy full of cuddles that I slowly and gently squeeze out of him.
HAPPY RABBITING!

Turtle is totally content with his apple eating today!
Don't worry guys just a little slice of apple for a happy happy boy! Turtle is getting ready for his vet exam on Friday! Checking up on him to make sure he is in perfect health for his fix surgery so he will stop spraying me with urine and nibbling my hands when he doesn't want to be held. Cant wait to gt a full low down on him! ;) ;) <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
Turtles Vet Trip
Turtles vet trip exam to see if he was in perfect health to be fixed went great!! The veterinarian said he looked completely healthy and he didn't squirm when the vet examined him. He was a really good boy! Tomorrow is his operation! I'll keep you updated! He was a total cuddle bug today! My rabbit is tremendously enjoying our Christmas tree and loves to eat and play around it! He is my Christmas lovin boy <3 <3 <3
(He wouldn't let me get a good picture! "Grrrrrr" Turtle. I love you anyways.)
Turtles surgery
Turtles surgery went great! He recovered well and the operation was done after 2 hours! He was also eating right after the operation just as he was supposed to be! Now he takes pain meds at 2:00 everyday. Today is the last day he will need them! He does not have any bleeding and he is not irritating or licking the "cut spot". Success!! As for his hormones, we are watching to see any changes in behavior! He does seem calmer though.
HAPPY RABBITING!!
SPRING HAS SPRUNG!
Tripod Bunny?
Ummmmmmm....What happened? Turtle disappeared for 4 days 2 months ago. I was distraught and the household was tossed into sadness. We thought we had seen the last of him. But he showed up in the morning on a saturday, the 4th day of being gone, and was rushed off to the animal hospital in Bothell WA because it appeared that he could not move his leg and he was covered in his urine and feces. The vets said that it must be sprained after finding no broken bones on his X-rays and casted his leg. We thought that after time he would begin to use his leg again but we referred to a different doctor when he seemed unable to feel his limb at all. The vet told us that it was neurological and that he in fact couldn't feel his leg but that it might come back. So we waited. But he regained nothing and the worry that he would get it stuck on something and hurt himself further kept piling onto me. One fateful day I picked him up to find a toe lightly bloodied and I decided to keep an eye on it. The next day turtle's toe had sloughed off and I could see his toe bone...Uuuuuuhhhhh thats bad. We finally took him to the vet yesterday to get it removed. It was a dead limb. Turtle is a tripod bunny.

whoa whoa whoa....slowly and gently squeezing cuddles out of him? Just make sure nothing else squeezes out of him in the process.
ReplyDeleteOh let's not be thinking he doesn't squeeze little pebbles of contentment wherever and whenever he pleases. He do.
